Crashin' the Fashion

Dress, vintage, thrifted, and shortened. Tank, Express. Jacket, Forever 21 (embellished). Pumps, Wild Diva. Earrings, self-made. Purse, thrifted.

I “made” these earrings. That means I threaded the pendants onto ear wires.

A young man on the bus this afternoon told me I was “crashin’ the fashion.” I’ve not heard that phrase before. I’m assuming it was a compliment.

I love that you shortened that vintage dress, it does make it perfect for NOW- it lost all the uncool length and kept the sexy part of secretary dress! I am off to find one of my own! Hope I can find that great color. Keep crashin' (I guess)

A young man in a store once told me, "you look redonkulous." I really wasn't sure which way to take it, but ended up deciding it was a compliment.

I have never heard that phrase before. But I am always behind when it comes to language trends. I am wondering if those earrings are from the wacky market you visited over the weekend? :-)

I've never heard that phrase before either! I have heard of redonkulous though. Not sure where it started but I'm pretty sure they used it in Bolt or some other kid movie (which would explain why my kids love saying it). On another note, LOVE the purse!

I actually made the earrings from materials I found at Michael's!

according to Urban Dictionary crashin' means the act of engaging in sexual intercourse. So.... I guess he meant you REALLY love fashion? I don't know. Either way you look fabulous!

Love the dress and those heels are fabulous! And I've never heard that phrase before either, but in cases like that, I always say take it as a compliment!

Commenting way after the fact to say I really love your hair. It just makes your clothes look that much more fabulous! I love this outfit!

The pendants actually are of Hindu goddesses....Lakshmi (the one sitting on the lotus)is the goddess of wealth and prosperity...and the other is Durga/Parvati (the goddess of strength and bravery)....just thought I would share. Love your style and your new hair style - Hema.

I can't get over how many different ways you find ways to layer things and add splashes of color. I love that you added a tank top on TOP of the dress to add an element of structure I guess and some color? Whatever the reason, it works SO WELL! Amazing and super inspiring. PS - love the shoes!

Hello !
I love your blog. I check it out daily!
I just wanted to let you know that the earrings you made were neat.

The image on the left is Hindu Goddess Laxshmi (Goddess of Wealth in Hindu Mythology) and the image on the right is the Hindu Goddess Durga (the name means 'invincible').

Enjoy!
