Damn Pants

Jacket, Odds ‘n Evens (thrifted). Shirt, The Limited. Trousers, Moda International. Lace-up pumps, Isaac Mizrahi for Target. Faux pearls, Newport News. Apple watch pendant, Forever 21.

My jewels.

Where are the feathers? Pinned to my coat. I attached my gothic cameo brooch (trimmed in feathers), to my wool coat this morning. I think it will stay there.

This is the last time I wear these pants. I like the idea of them: red/orange tweed, fitted through the hips, wide leg. However, they just aren’t flattering in reality. Buh-bye.

I don't know... sometimes things look different in person than on the camera, but I like your pants in the pictures!
I love the outfit today!

I am surprised you think they are unflattering, I like them a lot!

I really think the pants look adorable on you! Love the color!!!

(If you really want rid of them, send them my way. :))

I like the pants too, but I've been there. If you don't feel great in them, get rid of them. I have a really tough time finding pants because I'm short, have muscular thighs and a short rise.

I love this outfit, though! And that brooch looks amazing on the coat.

I hope you're able to find some replacement pants in that color. It's super fun with the cerulean top and your red hair.

I've always been a fan of those pants on you, but I know the feeling. I'm wearing a pair today I'm not comfortable in. Be gone, pants!

Those pants look great on you i think, but i also know what you mean, there's stuff i have as well that looks great in pictures but not so much in real life. I love these pants on you though, i think they flatter your figure a lot!

I have lots of items like that - things that should in theory work and look great but never do (at least on me).
This post has given me the power to free them!
I don't think you ever take a bad photo but have to agree that they don't work as well for you as other garments!

I think they look great, but I know I'm not wearing them. I love your pearls too!

I'm not sure, but I think it's the drape. Your trousers seem stiff and not draping in a flattering manner on your legs.

You've tried with those trousers and if they're still not working, swap 'em!

Love those pants, they fit you very nicely and the color is perfect. If I could look that good in pants, I'd wear them more often! Great outfit!

I see other commenters have said this already, but I think that the pants look great with the shirt you're wearing today. They're very flattering!

That said, I know it's frustrating to wear something when you're not 100% comfortable with it. Makes sense to pare down in that case.

Whoa. I didn't expect all the pants love!

I think what makes them not work for me is the drape. I feel like they give me "elephant legs." Wide leg pants need more movement than this pair has!

Also, they are lined and the lining has zero stretch. I'm nearly cut in half when I try to do something as simple as tie my shoe.

The colour of those pants goes SO well with your hair! Lovely!

The brooch looks like it was made for that coat. Nice job.

I really like those pants! The color goes well with the teal.
I guess it does get wrinkly around the hips -- but you have such small hips -- you can handle it! I think they're totally cute.

I will be one of the only dissenters amidst all this pants love: I don't love these pants. They're only okay. And I agree that it's the drape - they look a little bulky to me. They look like they fit oddly across the stomach/lower abdominal area, and they just don't hang right past the knee.

However, I really like the top half of the outfit today.

I like the pants.

I know you have been struggling with these 'damn pants' for a long time. Seriously, if you don't love them - it's time for them to go, no matter how many people tell you that you look good in them (because you do). But, if every time you wear them, you wish you didn't, then it is a clear exit sign. Free your pants!
