This red leotard was my very first, bought in preparation for a beginning ballet class in college. I later put it aside when I realized the tank top and hi-cut legs weren’t “ballet,” but I’ll always have fond memories of learning the positions and performing my first plies in this red Danskin leotard.
In fact, I still have every leotard I’ve ever bought, including the two I thrifted to replace this one in college. Washed in cold water and hung to dry, they seem to last forever! I can’t say the same for ballet tights or shoes.
You’d think, in a post celebrating my first ballet wear, that I might perform some of my very bad dancing for the camera, but I forgot the remote. I struggled to take these static photos with the manual focus and 10-second timer. Besides this pencil skirt doesn’t allow for much movement.
