Harvest

Dress, vintage, thrifted, and shortened. Sweater vest, Cherokee. Tights, We Love Colors. Maryjanes, Two Lips. Appliqué brooch, self made.

I love the fancy appliqués I see in the sewing and craft stores, but I have a fear of commitment. My solution was to glue two brooch backs onto the appliqué so that I could pin and unpin it to any outfit I like.

Oops, my slip is showing! (It was thrifted too.)

Hi Kasmira,
I have been following your blog for quite a while now and enjoy seeing all the colour/style combinations that you come up with. As for today, I love the orange/blue combination, particularly against a background such as your colouring. However, I mourn not being able to pull off these colours with my olive skin, dark hair & eyes!.

If I attempted this outfit, people would think I came to work drunk, yet on you it looks fabulous! I love the brooch too; you are crafty. Now come to my house and help me with my clothes! I'm sure you've always wanted to visit South Carolina!

This outfit looks *right* (I am not sure what I mean by that, but it was the only word that I could think of). I don't know what it is, but it looks so effortless yet pulled together in the perfect Kasmira way. In my next life I want your style courage!

I have to echo everyone else--I'd never have the guts (or the shape) to wear something like this, but on you, it's perfect. I love the color of the tights and the sweater together.

Pinning the applique on is a great idea. All to often they have to be removed anyway for washing or dry cleaning. This makes it easy.

I LOVE the idea of making a brooch out of an applique...very non-committal! The dress looks great with the vest...it may be my favorite look for this dress so far!

I love how you've taken this dress and added a bit more to it. The orange is the perfect soft combo for this dress. And the broach...ah...need I say more? It's lovely!
