Cardigan, Moda International. Coral shirt, Ann Taylor. Tweedy mini, Willi Smith (thrifted and altered). Boots, Nine West. Necklace, Urban Outfitters.
I’m with Fashion Me Fabulous on loving English tweeds. I found this heavy tweed wrap skirt at Goodwill. It was too “mini” for work, so I adjusted the buttons so that it sat at the top of my hips, rather than at my waist. If you think it’s short now, you should have seen it before I move the buttons 5 inches. I’m left with just enough of an overlap to stay decent when I sit down. Of course, I also wore a slip for insurance.

I love tweed as well! I would wear that in an instant! :-)
Lovely!
Now, tell me--you mentioned once that you are short waisted (is that the right way to say it?). I think I am, as well, but I'm shorter than you (I'm 5'3"). I've been photographing myself in similar outfits of late--knee-high boots and a skirt of varying lengths. I feel great--I LOVE BOOTS--but when I look at the photos, I look stumpy! Is it me? Am I too short for tall boots (don't say yes! don't say yes!)
sigh.
hey kasmira,
1. i love plaid.
2. i'm coming to you for some shopping tips
- any advice on where to get slips to wear under dresses/skirts? i've even gone as far as googling it and come back with nothing constructive- i wasn't thinking anything fancy, just a few basic colors in a satinish fabric with some pretty lacy to peek out in case of mishaps. cheap options would be appreciated :)
- any advice on boot shopping? i'm a petite thin girl (5'4 115lbs) with size 8.5 /9 sized feet. so all the boots i try on tend to be too loose around the calf (though i do have significant calf muscles from my more athletic days, its just not enough) so while the boots work for tucking in jeans, i feel just plain silly with skirts and tights- shopping advice please?
spank yaz!
Cute outfit! I love the layering.
And, isn't it great to finally have boot weather?
I'm enjoying those boots...
Really cute! I love the short sleeved cardi over the long sleeved shirt - it's something I'd feel weird doing, even though I love the look!
Nice! I love the colors.
BTW, I think I have those same boots from Nine West.
Love the colour combinations here. Count me in as a fellow tweed fan!
diana - I suspect it's just the way you're posing in the photos. Try putting one foot forward, like I've done here. The "slink" is also a good pose for elongating the body. I'm doing it this post:

kiran - I buy all my slips at the thrift store (http://whatiwore2day.blogspot.com/2008/04/in-navy.html). As for your boot difficulties, I recommend you do the same thing ladies with large calves do: measure your calf and then go online shopping with that in hand. More and more online retailers are including the shaft circumference in the product details.
