I couldn’t find any information on how this skirt is supposed to be worn, so it could be that I’ve been the victim of a practical joke. After all, when the flap is in front, so is the tag and that just doesn’t seem right. Right or wrong, I think I prefer the overlap in back. It’s easier to walk that way.
Which do you prefer? Front flap or back flap?

If you hadn't said the tag was then in front, I would have said that wrap skirts always have the flap in front... but if the tag is there, I'd seriously figure that the other must be the "intended" way because why would the tag be in front? Otherwise I guess if its not bigger on one side (for your rear) and it feels as comfortable fit wise either way, then its an either way...
I like it best in back, but the models in this Thai web shop wear the flap in front:

I like it both ways...but I think if I had to pick one from just the look alone I like the flap in the front.
But (more importantly) if its easier to walk in with it in the back, then it looks good that way too!
I think the tag thing is hard to go by if the skirt is really from Thailand....maybe they don't have a standard for where tags go?
Anyway I like it both ways but strictly visually my preference is in the front :-)

I usually think that the flap of a wrap skirt goes in front, but the fact that the tag is on the same slide as the flap is confusing.
It looks like it traditionally goes in front but I think yours looks quite nice in back
Here's some Thai people dressing a wrap skirt for reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqtUR5ugTFg
I heard flap in front, too. I think it looks better in front, as well~ gives that nice, long line, right there in front! But wear it the way you want! Be free!
I had one that flapped in the front. I agree with what Christine just said before me...
I think it looks great either way. But, do whatever is best for you, and easiest to walk in. The skirt is really beautiful, and reminds me of a wedding sari. I work at an event center with Indian weddings. It would great with golds, whites, and oranges.

It's traditionally worn with the flap in front, with the opening on the left.
Hi Kasmira, it's no practical joke, a sarong is worn with the overlap in front. Thailand and the rest of SEA where sarongs are worn aren't Cinncinati, and the concern there is the opposite of yours--staying cool with a fresh breeze while walking, but keeping the blazing hot sun off your legs. For your weather, it works in back :)
