A pair of dark gray leg warmers (from Sock Dreams) lengthens the line of my Matisse boots.

A navy blue sock fakes the look of a taller shaft, but doesn’t keep the water out.

My faithful Nine West boots are almost tall enough. A bit of brown sock takes them to the perfect height.

In this case, the leg warmer isn’t the same color as the top of the boot, but it creates the illusion of a taller, striped boot.
If, like me, you're always looking for a taller boot shaft, try this trick to transform the boots you already own.

I'm pretty sure I tried this trick after seeing you do it sometime back, now I try on my boots with an outfit with high socks and without. Ya know 'cause sometimes it looks better shorter. :o)

I have done the same to wear mid-calf boots with shorter skirts, i.e. black & green argyle knee highs + mid-calf black boots with gorgeous olive green & tan leather flower appliques.
