Jacket, Wilson’s Leather. Bag, Bitten. Sweater, Body Central. Long-sleeved tee, Mossimo. Jeans, M Denim. Necklace, Enve Designs. Loafers, American Eagle for Payless.
Yup, I’m wearing the same pair of jeans again. I’m like that. I get fixated on one pair and wear them to death.
I don’t buy a lot of jeans. I’m puzzled by the constant magazine spreads on the latest in denim washes, fits, and designers. Are other people buying a pair each season? I suppose my lack of interest is due to my preference for skirts and the frowning upon jeans at the office. The jeans I do own tend to last for a long time. These are all the jeans I own:
Bootcut (not so chic, but my favorite)
Brands (left to right): Lucky, Gap, Dollhouse. (And the M jeans in the lead pictures)
White
Gap
Capri (not the most flattering, but great in the heat)
Metro 7 (Wal*Mart)
Straight Leg (my preference over skinny)
Brands (left to right): Express, Calvin Klein, Gap.
Trouser
Express
That’s it. I recently donated a pair Mossimo and a pair of Lucky (never pictured) jeans to the thrift store because I wore them even less than the rest of my denim. The Gap bootcut jeans have since been relegated to work (as in gardening, carpentry, painting, etc) pants and I should overdye the remaining Lucky jeans to reduce the unflattering faded finish on the thighs.
Looking through the responses to “how many pairs of jeans do you own” on youlookfab, I think my 10 pair put me close to the excessive camp. Still, I feel a little behind for some reason. What's in your denim wardrobe?

I have seven pairs of jeans in my wardrobe but only three pairs feel great.
My favourite are a pair of Gap Curvy jeans.
I am not positive on this but I can safely say I have at least 20 pairs. BUT they are in 5 different sizes cause of the weight I lost last year. Strangely all of them fit. I already donated a good 12 pairs a few months back.
Wow, I feel denim deficient compared to all of you. My denim collection is sitting pretty at around 3 pairs (4 if you include the one pair of cutoffs I wear to babysit sometimes). I also prefer skirts or, even better!, dresses!
I have 4 pairs of jeans: black skinnies, two pair of darker wash bootcut (one has spandex, one doesn't) and one pair of "boyfriend" jeans (ie. baggy) that I wear for slouching around the house. Oh, and one hideous pair with embroidery and gems that I only wear in the house or to my painting class.
So, 5 pairs.
I have about seven pairs but I only wear three religiously. A pair of dark Bitten (sold at Steve & Barry's for those of you that aren't aware) straight legs that fit like skinnies, Bitten bootcut, and a pair of trouser jeans. I love, love, love Bitten's denim! As a plus size goddess, they fit me well and have stayed nice and dark despite washing and drying them multiple times. You're not supposed to machine dry denim but at only 9 bucks a pop, I'll feel no remorse when they finally do fall apart :Dp
First: I love the cranberry tee and yellow sweater combo in the first picture. That looks awesome.
Second: You look great in jeans, even if they aren't your favorite. I like your trouser jeans especially.
I have...six pairs of jeans. A new pair of dark trouser jeans I wear all the time (Gap); an older pair of trouser jeans I used to wear all the time but are now too big (New York & Co.); a pair of very worn out weekend jeans that I adore (Seven7); a pair of "regular" bootcut jeans (Seven7); a pair of dark wash jeans I should get rid of because they are too short (DKNY); and a pair of guys' jeans for days when I need something super casual and easy (Seven7).
I feel like a denim pauper! I have two pairs of jeans: one black pair and a dark brown pair. Both are brand new because my older pair were getting too big.
But you do have so many jeans! I only have 3 pairs and 2 capri jeans and I wear jeans every day! Well, I don´t have lots of clothes either. If something comes in,then something goes out-that´s my philosophy. Enough about me. Checking your blog from time to time is fun. Nice to see someone who dares to bend all the rules and mixes clothes in her own way.
I have only a few pairs of jeans. I'm surprised at girls that have so many pairs! And you will not convince me that boot-cut isn't stylish. It's still sold everywhere, and I think it looks great on most people, which can't be said for skinny jeans, which look great on almost no one, IMO.
Oh, I really like this outfit. :)
Hi, I've been following your blog for a couple weeks now and I love looking at all the outfits you put together! What a fun and brave idea!!!! My favorite outfit from this post is the straight leg jeans and whtie sweater outfit. I love that scarf with the poms and the cup of coffee goes with it perfectly! :) Question: Who takes all your pictures for you - you should give them credit in your next post!
hbee - I take all my own pictures with a tripod and a remote. So, I give myself credit!
I own only 2 pairs of jeans, but I wear them religiously. I do also own a pair of denim clamdiggers that I wear in the summer, but they have a very strange rise, and I always have issues with that way pants fit me in the crotch as it is...I did used to have a gorgeous pair of slim-fit trouser jeans, but alas, I outgrew them. :(
I recently found your blog a couple of months ago and really enjoy seeing your color combinations, layering, and just adventureous style. Inspires me to step out of the box and try something new.
I have 5 pair of jeans and love none. Still looking for that perfect pair. Right now, I really like the trouser jean.
Thanks!
Jayne

I think I have at leat 15 pairs of jeans in my wardrobe, but I only wear 4 or 5 of them.
I'm from Spain, and brands very popular for you (Gap, Mossimo...) are not so usual here (of course there's a Gap store in Barcelona, but it's soooo expensive). I wear Lois (my favourite ones), Pepe Jeans, Diesel...
I think my desire for jeans is about length...a pair for flats, a pair for heels, a pair for boots, etc.
I can't wear anything denim except full-length jeans and the occasional mini. For some reason, I just can't stand the idea of wearing denim capris, shorts, dresses, jackets, shirt or anything else other than jeans and the occasional mini. I have no problem with those things on other people, I just hate wearing them myself That being said, I love my jeans (1 pair of gray skinnies, 1 pair of medium-wash skinnies, and several flared to-be-DIYed pairs) and I am a diehard Uniqlo denim fan.
I'm on 5 pairs:
- dark blue skinnies (NEW AND ON SALE)
- black skinnies (DITTO)
- comfy straight leg ones I've oned for 4 years (they are v faded now, intrigued by how you woul over-dye them???)
- non-comfy dark bootcut ones that are feeling way too snug at the moment so haven't been worn for ages. SIGH!
I have several pairs - skinnies, straight-cut and bootcut. I'm currently looking for a pair of "boyfriend" jeans. Need a break from skinnies..
My favourite is the outfit u wore in this post and also trouser jeans. I think I prefer you in darker denim. :)
I own around 15, probably.I guess that's excessive...But I'm very picky. I need dark, medium and light washes for various shirts, and then skinnies and trousers and ones tailored for heels and ones tailored for flats.
That being said, I love your trouser jeans! Those are fabulous.
Do they count if you never wear them because they don't fit rignt (too big, etc.) and you just keep them around in case you'll paint the house or go camping in the fall? Cuz then I have close to 10, but I only wear 4 and that's the most amount of comfortable, wearable jeans I've ever had at one time.
You make me feel better, because I don't wear jenas (or any pants) hardly at all. I like them on other people, but the only pair that looks good on me is uncomfortable. One of my guy friends was very complementary of me in jeans one night that we all went out, but while I enjoyed the approving looks, I had to unbutton the top button at dinner . . .
First, I love the cranberry and mustard combo! Love it!
Second, I love the Express denim trousers in the last picture. I've been looking for a pair but can't find a pair that doesn't look...I don't know...sailor-ish.
Finally, I love the look of jeans, but don't like wearing them because they're not very comfortable. That being said, I have 4 pairs in regular rotation (2 of them are the exact same style) and all four are the Gap's long and lean. I love them! There are also two pairs that hardly ever see the light of day. All of them from the Gap and all are boot cut.
Love the dark red and the mustard yellow paired together. Which is also considered good colors in islamic faith. Sugoi!

I love straight legged jeans, but have such a hard time finding any. Seems like I can only find bootcut, skinny or wideleg... Thanks for showing your three pairs. They all look fantastic, and now I'm going to have to see if I can find some in those brands!
Much love, as always, since you are fantastically fashionable!
Before I moved, I had about 25 pairs of jeans in various sizes and fabric thickness. Almost all went to Salvation Army. Now, I have five pair total, one jean jacket, and two jean skirts (one mini, one reg). Of the five jeans, each is a different fit, style, and hue. I guess I can say that I've reformed my clothes buying habits this year.
I have 7 pairs of jeans. My favorites are my twin pairs of Michael Kors "everyday" jeans and my ultra-flattering Hot Kiss pair. I have one pair of skinny Bitten jeans, a DKNY dark straight-leg pair, "fat-day" jeans, and trouser jeans for Fridays at work (a purchase that was inspired by this site). I don't think 10 is excessive at all.
I know it's crazy, but I have 24 pair of jeans..... I think I have about 4 that are my ultimate favs.
I have 4 pairs of jeans that fit me--two are the same style Ann Taylor Jeans, but one is long (regular) and one is just right (petite). Two are trouser-like jeans from Banana Republic that I just got and LOVE. I think I have 4 pairs (all Gap) that are too big for me now (hooray!)
I have a question for you on those trouser jeans. Both have slim legs and bell-like bottoms and BOY do they make noise when I walk. It's actually annoying. How does one combat that? Any thoughts?
londyn - I KNEW you had a ton!
diana - I suppose you could try rubbing the legs with a dryer sheet to see if softening the fabric would help the noise. Or you could walk all bow-legged. :)
lol. yes, my boss suggested that... i just need spurs that jingle jangle jingle...
I think I'm a jeans girl, because I LOVE this look!
