A clothing swap and music event in collaboration with Chicken Lays An Egg
Saturday May 21, 2011 5pm.
It's springtime and the birds and the bees are restless which means time to weed your wardrobe and make room for some new pieces, luckily we have just the event for you.
U•turn has partnered once again with the amazing Chicken Lays an Egg to bring you another clothing swap extravaganza on Saturday May 21 beginning at 5pm. Clothing drop off begins at 1pm on the 21st or if you're extra eager bring your used duds to U•turn Art Space (2159 Central Ave.) during gallery hours (Saturday 12-4).
We encourage you to bring items of clothing (washed please), including shoes and accessories. $5.00 gets you in the door where you will have the opportunity to "swap" your gently used items for new to you pieces. There's no telling what treasures you might come across. All remaining clothing will be donated to Goodwill (select pieces may be chosen for Chicken Lays An Egg but only after swap is completely over).
But wait there's more! Come for the clothes, but stay for the music. Along with DJ Kenneth Wright providing tunes during the swap action, make sure you stop upstairs and get your dance on as Hazle Weatherfield, The Minor Leagues, and Culture Queer take to the stage!
If all the excitement gets you hungry just pop outside and stop by Cafe de Wheels to get some grub!
Join us for this one night celebration of community, music, fashion, food, and sustainable shopping!
After you've got some new duds and grub you should head over to Mayday in Northside for Do's, Brews, and Tattoos!
RSVP via the Facebook Event. I’ll see you there!
