Summer Trends: Military paired with Feminine

I served in the US Marines and associate olive drab with military dress. Khaki, navy, red, black, and white are also used in service uniforms, but olive will always mean “military” to me.

I happen to love that muddy, brownish-yellow shade of green, so I had plenty in my closet to choose from for today’s Summer Trends challenge: Military paired with Feminine.

Top, H&M (swap). Skirt, Travis Ayers (thrifted). Shoes, Miss Me. Scarf, Claire’s. Bracelets, Forever 21, vintage, thrifted, and Deb. Watch, Unlisted.

Many of my past military femme looks have incorporated my genuine USMC olive drab service skirt, which I embellished with black lace.

Tomorrow’s trend is Sparkles for Day. I’m finally going to wear my sequined jacket to work. (P.S. It’s olive, too!)

P.P.S. Today is also Everybody Everywear yellow day. Hence, the yellow shoes.

I think this is my favorite outfit I've seen from the military/feminine challenge.

PS: You do NOT look like a Marine! Ha! Thanks for your service.

That embellished army skirt is perhaps my favourite item of clothing I've seen on your blog.

Olive Drab is hands down my favorite color...even if the word drab goes with it! I don't think of military...I think of fabulous when I wear it!! And your outfit is fabulous...I just love it! Great skirt...

Love that scarf over the lace. So pretty! And the yellow shoes give just the right pop of color.

I am thinking that you had the very best Military w/feminine yesterday. I love your style.

Great mix of military and femme. The scarf helps to fuse girly with that olive drab color. Also I am not a floral girl but I am drooling over both those shoes and purse. So bright!

What a great interpretation of the military w/feminine theme. I love the addition of the yellow floral prints; they really brighten up the outfit.

I love this look on you--but especially the yellow shoes and that bag is just adorable!

olive drab...like that color as a neutral and I would definitely wear that outfit (well, without the shoes and bag....). Olive is the new black.
