Victorian Revisited

If Victorian style has a season, it’s got to be fall (and maybe winter, too). What better time is there for all those heavy, sumptuous fabrics and high, lacy collars?

Jacket, New York & Co. Blouse, Newport News. Skirt, Express (thrifted). Tights, We Love Colors. Shoes, Isaac Mizrahi for Target. Bag, H&M. Necklace, Macy’s. Sunglasses, Xhilaration.

My lower half is dressed 100 years ahead of the upper.

Speaking of time warps, here’s how today’s outfit compares with the one I wore on this date, five years ago:

Same jacket and same shirt (but in a different color)

You look gorgeous! I think compared to the outfit 5 year ago, you look much more confident in this one, plus I prefer the skirt to the pants! :)

glad you've kept such a great blazer all these years, it still looks just as in fashion today!

Hounds tooth and lace is a great combination! Love those shoes from Target. Oxfords and funky hose/tights are my favorite combination.

How very clever of you to give Victorian style a season. It makes perfect sense.
This is such a lovely ladylike outfit, that's fun and interesting too. I love your combination of textures and the color.

You always remind me of things i need to wear!!!
Great color on the jacket :)
And, I just LOVE the outfit on your Dillard's ad, don't you!
I wish i could find it on a clx. rack or better yet, a thrift store!
But Dillard's things are so yummy, I don't see it in the cards.

Can I just say that I adore that skirt, houndstooth is lovely! And yes what a fantastic color on the blazer. Pretty much, a great outfit.

The updated version is much more fashion forward, and I like the contrast of the skirt pattern. That blue is totally your color.

Love, love, love the houndstooth mini. Why is it so hard to find that silhouette in a skirt these days?

Seriously? It never occured to me to pair my lace top with my velvet blazer until I saw this post. Thank you for the inspiration! I completely love this look.
