Mz Washington

Today, I’m posed in front of the Campy Washington mural in Camp Washington. It depicts George Washington in a dress. Apparently, many find it disrespectful.

Dress, To the Max. Scarf, thrifted. Shoes, Lela Rose for Payless. Hat and bag, Charming Charlie. Bracelets, Claire’s, Mixit, and Fort.

I’ve always thought of it as “whimsical,” but, judging from the backlash, serious historical figures should never be treated with whimsy.

Last night, I saw a preview for “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.” Is that treatment of a president less disrespectful than putting one in a dress?

In love with those yellow shoes of yours! So much so, I had to pin them :)

What did you think of the Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter trailer? I read the book and found it entertaining.

I thought the trailer was uninteresting, but I WAS intrigued by the book synopsis on Wikipedia. Maybe I'll read it and then consider seeing the film.

What a cool mural. I think there are much worse things on the internet than George in a dress, fwiw.

I think the mural is fantastic! You still look better in a dress than George does, though.

We have an odd attitude towards Presidents and respect in this country. I am liberal, but was somewhat horrified when W. (the movie) came out. I do think there are worse things than GW in a dress (and I appreciate the pun), but I think because he is *insert reverential, sonorous newsman tone* the Father of Our Country, he still gets more respect historically than anyone else.
