For my final pictures in Cincinnati, we visited an iconic location that has served the blog well: Union Terminal.

Jacket, Forever 21 (overdyed). Shirt, Christopher & Banks (thrifted). Dress, Jovovich Hawk for Target. Boots, Ariat (borrowed). Bag, Go Jane. Sunglasses, Girl Props. Earrings, Claire’s. Brooch, vintage. Bracelets, Target and Claire’s.

I’d really be departing in style if I left on a train from Union Terminal, but I’ll be flying, instead.

I leave on Monday for Sacramento.

Cincinnati, you’ve been good to me.

September Purchases

After spending big bucks on my Cincinnati house’s landscaping and HVAC system, putting down the earnest money on a house in Sacramento, and spending $100 on clothing and accessories in September, I’m feeling poor, indeed.

1. Bold Curve Skinny Jeans in Endless Night, $49.99

I’m still looking for my skinny jeans holy grail. I want a medium rise. Real pockets and fly. No sagging. No muffin top. These are close, but no cigar.

I chose the Levi’s Bold Curve style to accommodate my curvy rear and thighs. I like how they look immediately after I put them on, but, as you can see from these pictures taken after a day of wear, they sag in the thighs and knees after a few hours, giving me more of the jodhpur than a “skinny” look. Maybe I should have chosen a different curve?

Any recommendations? Erin of Reality Chic recently recommended Madewell Skinny Skinny Jeans, but I’m not built anything like Erin.

St Vincent de Paul

2. White House Black Market blazer, $2.50

This doesn’t button if I have air in my lungs, but, for $2.50, I’ll wear it open.

Go Jane

3. Oversized Colorblock Handbag, $50.60.

Londyn has tons of cute stuff from Go Jane, but my first purchase was prompted by Indiana Adams. She bought this bag and I had to have it too. It’s a little pricy for a fake leather bag, but I love the colors and style. I carried it nonstop for a few days and it’s going in my October 31-for-31 capsule.

September total: $103.09

Total spending for the year: $1077.83.

In October, I’m taking another business trip to LA and staying within walking distance of a Zara! Expect me to buy something there. But not too much….I only have $122.17 left to spend this year.

Chase Away the Gray

Wearing all gray (or gray plus black and white) on a gray day made me feel gray, so I added a few brights. That took my mood from mostly to partly cloudy.

Jacket, Allen B. Dress, Forever 21. Scarf, Calypso St Barth for Target. Bag, Mondani. Tights, probably Target. Boots, Matisse. Earrings, self-made. Sunglasses, Girlprops.

Symmetry and the Dans

The very first play I saw in Cincinnati was How the Other Half Loves at the Showboat Majestic, featuring local actor Dan Doerger. I saw my very last Cincinnati play tonight and it was again at the Showboat Majestic and again featuring, my now friend, Dan Doerger.

Little did I know, back in 2004 that I would also perform on the Showboat Majestic (in Oliver) and that I’d be on stage with Dan Doerger himself in Annie Get Your Gun (although at the Covedale, not the Showboat).

I love the symmetry of the situation and that local theatre bought me together with another Dan (aka Beefy Muchacho).

Sweater, Express. Dress, Tucker for Target. Bag, vintage. Boots, Vince Camuto. Hat, Lids. Sunglasses, Betsey Johnson. Earrings, Into the Fray. Belt, Gap (thrifted). Tights, Hue. Bracelet, thrifted. Rings, vintage, Black Hills Gold, and Puzzrollrings.

Kroger Cart

I did not steal this grocery cart. I found it on the street corner near my house last spring. We live miles from the nearest Kroger store, so, instead of returning it, I wheeled it home.

Although I didn’t commit the crime, this is a hot trolley. I’d rather not leave Ohio as a fugitive from the law, so I pushed it almost three miles to the Kroger store today. First, though, I used it as a photo shoot prop.

Jacket, Dex (swap). Dress, Branna Studio San Francisco (thrifted). Tee, Disney (thrifted). Jeggings, Mossimo. Moccasins, Minnetonka. Earrings, vintage. Rings, heirloom, vintage, and thrifted. Brooches, vintage, swap, and self-made.

Little Cats

I’m leaving for California a few weeks before the kitties will. What will I do without them?

Sweater, Mossimo. Skirt, No Boundaries (thrifted). Boots, Matisse. Scarf, thrifted. Tights, Stocking Diva. Legwarmers, Apostrophe. Earrings, Claire’s.

Since I can’t take kitty cuddles with me, I’m taking lots of photos to moon over.

We only have four cats. (Roy is pictured twice. Once with Sam and once with a pile of wilted catnip.)

Actually, the count is creeping towards five since a stray black kitten has adopted us. But we will be finding another home for her.

Hoodies don’t make much of an appearance on my blog. I generally think of them as sleep and work-out wear.

Hoodie, Old Navy (thrifted). Shirt and skirt, American Eagle (both thrifted). Boots, Vince Camuto. Bag, vintage. Necklace, Target. Rings, gift and PuzzRollRings.

The hoodie outfits:

From the evidence, you can see I like to wear hoodies with dresses and skirts, under jackets and blazers, over buttonfront shirts, and while I ride my bike. Do hoodies have a place in your wardrobe?
