Cubana

Cuba is on Beefy’s and my short list of non-US vacation destinations. On a hot, muggy, but breezy, day, I was perhaps unconsciously channeling a Caribbean, if not Cuban, look to beat the heat.

I complain a lot about the current temps, but I must admit that the nights and mornings are still pleasant. Unless your mom forces you to run two miles in a fur coat.

Blueper

I’m not showing you the bloopers in today’s photo shoot, but, as in every session that involves jumping, there were a few. Inevitably, I capture awkward squats, crazy eyes, and revealing skirt movement.

Wait. Where’s the jump? Here it is:

Effortless, right? And no crotch shot.

I did screw up and forget to take a 365 photo. So you get one more perfect jump shot, instead.

Picnic Weather

It’s still a little hot for dining al fresco, but I did see a teen couple roaming the top level of this parking garage with slices of pizza and Cokes. It was sort of an urban picnic.

Later that same day . . . we caught Jackson sleeping with his tongue out. Naturally, we laughed at him and took a picture.

Doitall

I tried to do it all, today. I got up early and took each dog on a two mile run. I worked an event with one customer and drove to Woodland to meet another. I bought all the special ingredients needed to make our contributions for the Toastmaster’s BBQ on Saturday. I did a T25 workout (the penultimate one in the Alpha cycle). I was feeling quite accomplished. And then I got something in my eye that knocked me flat for the evening and made us miss Jackson’s nosework class. Ah, hubris.

I was also proud of myself for resisting this chocolate display at Nugget Market.

Once I was temporarily blinded, I wished I had brought that chocolate stout home with me.

Dry Heat

These 100+ degree days are bearable when the humidity is low and the air is moving. Sweat evaporates so quickly that you hardly know you’re perspiring. The biggest challenge is probably staying hydrated.

I’m keeping myself and my pups well-watered.

Pieces of Prabal

Of all the designer collabs at Target, I’ve found my pieces from the Prabal Gurung collection to be the best made and most worn. I’ve worn the printed pumps over a dozen times and have only had to have the heel taps replaced. This dress is mostly cotton and has stood up to multiple wears AND washings while still looking new. Besides the quality, both pieces have proved themselves versatile and highly remixable in my closet.
