Bachelorette Party

Turquoise dress, Moth. Slim jeans, Express. Brown booties, Style & Co. Peacock earrings, from Erica. Gray patent clutch, Express.

When I dressed myself for my friend Abby’s bachelorette party, I kept two things in mind. First, I wanted to wear the peacock feather earrings Erica gave me. Second, I didn’t want to look anything like the girls on Black Finn’s website. I wanted to be modest but quirky. I think I succeeded.

I didn’t get drunk and crazy but I did get a (fake) tattoo! Maybe I’d fit in with the group pictured on the website after all.

Do you have a close-up picture of the earrings? They look nice, I'd like to see them in more detail.

I think you're being a little harsh to those girls on the website. None of them look slutty and immodest like you seem to imply. In fact, most of them are wearing tops with sleeves!

Wow, I saw the tattoo and was very shocked for a second! Phew!

Love the colours; the earrings look lovely!

Kate - they mostly just look really drunk.

Karen - I cropped and loaded a few detail shots of the earrings to flickr. You can see them here:

OK, so maybe they're drunk but that doesn't have anything to do with how they're dressed. For some reason, your comment just really rubbed me the wrong way-- I hate when girls rag on each other like that. I find it sort of ridiculous that you could criticize those girls when all you know about them is from a picture on a website...don't you hate it when people make snarky comments about your pictures on your website...?

I love the top, but I think that the colour is far too similar to the jeans. Personally, I would've gone for either black jeans or pinstripes.

I used to have a pair of peacock tail earrings, but I lost one. :(

It looks like you can update your Fashion Wishlist now - you have your peacock feather earrings now. They look great. I love how you kept the color pallet of your outfit simple since the earrings are such a statement piece.

This is one of my favorite outfits of yours. You look beautiful!

love the top half...but really, jeans with that dress looks a little clunky. i think it would look chic with just some tall brown or camel-colored boots. otherwise, fab outfit

I love the outfit and I agree with you that the girls on that website don't look the way I would want to look - drunk or not. There is never anything wrong with having an opinion. I think you pulled off "modest but quirky" very well (which is personally my dressing goal everyday). Oh, and in reagrd to what Kate said - I have a feeling that if you are willing to put your picture on the Internet everyday then you probably don't care what people have to say, negative or positive - at least that's how I would feel.
