Designer information and Events Schedule

CINCINNATI – APRIL 8, 2010 – Cincinnati Fashion Week is a community driven collaborative, working synergistically towards one common goal: to improve the quality of life by promoting sustainable action through fashion & style.

Fashion week benefits the people that make this city so special – style and fashion are an integral part of building community. To accomplish this goal of community, Cincinnati Fashion Week (CFW) has teamed up with Keep Cincinnati Beautiful (KCB) through their Great American Clean Up, which will take place on Saturday April 24, 2010. CFW is sponsoring a clothing drive as part of the Great American Cleanup – donate your clothing to Kenzie's Closet, Dress For Success, and receive 25% off of any level ticket purchase.

We are proud to welcome home legendary Cincinnati native and American top designer, David Meister who will be showcasing his red carpet worthy gowns at Cincinnati Fashion Week.

Designers from all over the map are flying in to encourage support for Cincinnati’s first fashion movement. Featured designers also include: esteemed international designer Laura Dawson from the UK, the “Glitter Queen” Amy Longo from New York City, high-end menswear label Arbitrage from New York City, and club kids TrashBiscuit from Saint Louis. Cincinnati Fashion week will also showcase the work of America’s next wave of top designers, including Daequan Andino from New York City, Grace Mae from Malibu, Lisa Milanij from Cleveland, Milla Pershyna from Detroit, as well as Cincinnati based designers, Ashley Bowman, Rosie Kovacs with Lynda Lucas and Amy Kirchen.

An American Designer

David Meister is an esteemed American designer known for his sophisticated, yet body conscious, women’s wear. David’s dresses, evening wear and couture red carpet designs have graced the contours of socialites and celebrities. Alicia Keys, Diane Lane, Fergie, Tina Fey, Elizabeth Hurley and Sharon Stone are just a few contemporary thinking, fashion personas who have all chosen David Meister for the Red Carpet moments of their lives.

As a young child in Cincinnati, David was heavily influenced by style-conscious TV shows such as Sonny & Cher, which fueled his aspiration of becoming a fashion designer. Thankfully, his love affair with color and strong fashion opinions was encouraged by his parents, who recognized his keen eye for fashion at the tender age of four. During those formative years, David sketched evening wear designs which laid the foundation for what was to come.
