Olive Juice

I’m a big fan of olive. I dig olive pizza, dirty martinis, and the greenish-brown color. I bought this tee last Sunday, after declaring olive “the new black.”

Ankle Breakers

I wore my new Steve Madden heels today and nearly fell down the stairs. Actually, I did fall down the stairs, but I caught myself on the railing before I had gone far. I’m starting to think these shoes were not a wise purchase.

The belt (also a recent purchase), I love. I like wide, stretchy belts. They create an hourglass look without discomfort.

Longworth

Speaking of favorites, Longworth Hall is becoming one of my favorite places for pictures. Today’s photos are taken in front of yet another fantastic mural, hidden away under the Brent Spence Bridge.

Not His Favorite

This is the skirt that Beefy doesn’t like. He also wasn’t a fan of the two layers of lace plus the doily necklace. But he never tells me outright that he doesn’t like an outfit. He just (diplomatically) says, “It’s not my favorite.”

Given that Beefy uses the term “favorite” quite liberally, I know that “it’s not my favorite” is more of a censure than it sounds. So I tartly respond with, “Well, it’s a good thing you don’t have to wear it.” And then we both dissolve into laughter because the image of Beefy wearing my clothing is so ridiculous. A man in drag* is my favorite.


*Seriously, there is nothing funnier than a man in women’s clothing. Except maybe fart jokes.

On the Radio

I spent an hour with What’s Hot this afternoon on 55KRC. So, what’s hot? Well, Cincinnati, the color olive, and the three awesome ladies behind Cooking With Caitlin.

As the heat and mugginess continues in Cincinnati, I’m starting to regret every bit of synthetic clothing I own. Cotton is the way to go.

Better Left Alone

In an effort to create a fresh look with this dress, I topped it with a sweater. On a day when the heat index reached something like 110.

I work in a very cool office, but, despite the climate control, I shed the sweater after my noon workout. I think it looked better that way.

I look like I just rolled out of bed. Oh, wait, I did.
