I had originally planned to wear my tan, wool, J Crew blazer with this outfit, but was tempted by my newly thrifted suede and faux fur jacket at the last minute. I posted both looks to Instagram and Facebook and asked for opinions. Instagram users voted for the suede and faux fur jacket, while Facebook users voted for the wool blazer. The Long Knit Skirt - Before

I’m a bit challenged by this skirt. It’s long and khaki – two things I don’t regularly do in my wardrobe. I’m willing to work with the length (the slit in the back is just too fun to shorten the skirt and too scandalous to hike it up), but I’ve got to do something about the color.


Scarf, Target. Tee, The Limited. Skirt, Worthington (thrifted and gifted). Belt, Deena & Ozzy. Necklaces, vintage and thrifted. Bracelets, Claire’s and Garden of the Gods gift shop. Shoes, Libby Edelman. Tights, We Love Colors. Bag, Mossimo.

The skirt is 100% cotton knit, so it is 100% dyeable! I’m leaning toward a dip dye (dipping the top end) in a deep color. Tell me what you think in the poll at the bottom.

All My Pretty Owls

Hidden Owl “Week” has concluded. I wore many of my owl pieces, but if you’ve been keeping track over the years, you might have noticed a few were missing.

I don’t have these owls any more:


1. I donated the first bag to the thrift store because the size and style were impractical. 2. The owl appliqué fell off my purple purse and was lost. 3. I did such a terrible job hemming that skirt that I trashed it after a couple of wearings. 4. I sent the owl badge to a reader in Holland in exchange for Dutch snacks. Totally worth it.
These two are pending repair:


1. One of the pendant’s eyes keeps falling out. 2. The owl face fell off the ring band.
